How to perform

Battle Rope Circles movement

Main muscles working (thicker lines)

Starting position

Hold one rope end in each hand in an athletic half squat, rope slack removed.

  1. 1

Brace your core and keep your chest up.

  2. 2

Move both hands in circles, either inward or outward, at the same time.

  3. 3

Keep the circles consistent so spirals travel down the rope.

  4. 4

Switch direction for the next set.

Breathing: Breathe steadily throughout the set.

Coaching tips

  • Big, smooth circles

  • Stay low

  • Consistent rhythm

Common mistakes

  • Circles too small to create spirals

  • Shrugging the shoulders

  • Rising out of the squat

Safety notes

  • Reduce circle size if you feel pinching at the front of the shoulder.
