Starting position
Set a light Smith bar across your upper back, unhook it and split your feet, one forward and one back.
Lower your back knee toward the floor.
From the bottom, drive hard through the front heel and jump straight up.
Switch your legs in the air so the back foot lands in front.
Land softly in a split stance and flow straight into the next rep.
Breathing: Inhale on the way down, exhale sharply as you jump.
Coaching tips
Straight up the rails
Quick switch
Soft landing
Common mistakes
Loading it like a strength lift
Landing stiff-legged
Feet landing too narrow
Safety notes
Use a light load and set the safeties just below your bottom position.
Stop the set once jumps lose height or landings get sloppy.
