How to perform

Double Kettlebell Front Rack Carry movement

Main muscles working (thicker lines)

Starting position

Clean two kettlebells to the rack so they rest on the forearms against the chest, wrists straight and elbows tucked.

  1. 1

Stand tall with ribs down and glutes engaged.

  2. 2

Walk forward with short, controlled steps.

  3. 3

Keep the elbows tight and the bells close to the chest.

  4. 4

At the end of the distance, stop, then lower the bells under control.

Breathing: Take short breaths behind a braced trunk rather than holding your breath for the whole walk.

Coaching tips

  • Tall spine

  • Elbows in

  • Short steps

Common mistakes

  • Leaning back to counter the weight

  • Elbows flaring out

  • Bent wrists

  • Holding the breath

Safety notes

  • Lower the bells carefully by dropping them to the backswing or setting them down with a flat back.

  • Stop if the rack position slips or the lower back arches.
