How to perform

Double Kettlebell Press movement

Main muscles working (thicker lines)

Starting position

Clean two kettlebells to the rack: handles at the collarbones, forearms vertical, elbows tucked against the ribs, feet hip-width.

  1. 1

Squeeze your glutes, brace your abs and grip the handles hard.

  2. 2

Press both bells up, letting the palms turn forward as they pass your face.

  3. 3

Lock out with the biceps beside the ears and the bells stacked over the shoulders.

  4. 4

Pull the bells back down to the rack under control, elbows returning to the ribs.

  5. 5

For the seesaw version, press one bell while the other stays racked, then switch as it comes down.

Breathing: Exhale as you press, inhale as you pull back to the rack.

Coaching tips

  • Glutes tight, ribs down

  • Forearms vertical

  • Pull them back down

Common mistakes

  • Leaning back to get the bells past the face

  • Elbows flaring wide in the rack

  • Wrists bending back under the bells

  • Dropping the bells instead of lowering them

Safety notes

  • Choose bells you can press without arching the lower back.

  • Keep the wrists straight to avoid strain.
