Starting position
Step onto the machine holding the handrails, stand tall and select a manual level or a program.
Start at a slow pace for a few minutes to warm up.
Place your whole foot on each step or pedal and push through the heel.
On a stepper, drive the pedals down in a steady rhythm without letting them hit the bottom.
Stay upright with only a light touch on the rails.
Reduce the speed gradually to cool down before stepping off.
Breathing: Breathe steadily; slow the pace if you can't keep a controlled rhythm.
