Fresh or frozen strawberries blended with curd, a splash of milk and one teaspoon of honey. Strawberries are low in sugar for a fruit and high in vitamin C, and curd brings calcium and live cultures. A light snack for children and adults alike, and far lower in sugar than a strawberry milkshake from a cafe.

Ingredients
Method
- 1
Rinse the strawberries under running water and pull off the green tops.
- 2
Add the strawberries, curd, milk and honey to the blender jar and blend on high for 30 seconds until smooth and evenly pink.
- 3
Taste; if the berries were sour, add half a teaspoon more honey. Add the ice, pulse twice and pour.
Tips
- Winter strawberries from Mahabaleshwar are sweetest; out of season, frozen ones are cheaper and taste better than pale fresh ones.
- Blend in 1 tbsp rolled oats to make it a more filling breakfast.
Swaps
- Replace honey with 1 soft date for a vegan-friendly sweetener (still veg because of the curd).
Nutrition is estimated per serving from IFCT 2017 and USDA FoodData Central and rounded. Your ingredients and portions will differ a little.
